Gear Review: Fractel Performance Socks Trail Tested

Fractel’s Performance Socks promise breathable comfort, compression support and durability on long runs. We put them to the test on the trails.

For those who have ever had a sock betray you mid-run – slipping, bunching, or birthing a blister – you’ll understand my scepticism when trying new pairs. 

But after logging serious kilometres in Fractel’s Performance Socks, I can confidently say: these are keepers. 

Comfort and Fit on the Trails

Crafted from Aussie brand Fractel’s PULSE fabric, these socks strike a balance between lightweight breathability and targeted compression. The Jacquard Knit design keeps my feet cool (yes, even in winter when the toes get warm), and the circulation zones provide noticeable support, reducing fatigue on longer efforts – absolutely ideal for someone like me, who has a blood clotting disorder. 

I was truly impressed with their ability to stay put. No slipping, no bunching – just a snug, secure fit that feels custom-made. 

Breathability and Support

The seamless toe construction eliminates friction points, and the brand’s discreet ‘Why We Run’ message inside adds a motivational touch when the trail gets tough. These are moisture wicking socks with arch support, breathable open knit mesh and Left/Right indications at the toes.

I was provided the olive colour for testing, and aesthetically, the hue is incredibly versatile – subtle enough for daily wear but distinctive enough to stand out, and I got some nifty complimentary comments from my trail tribe whilst out using the socks.
