Why The Suunto Run Watch Is My New Best Friend
A Watch That Delivers Lightweight Performance and Big Value
You know you’ve met your match when your watch shows your resting heart rate, recovery window, and exactly how many hills you’ve regretted. Enter the 36g Suunto Run – the brand’s newest, sleekest, and lightest watch in the brand’s regimen.

From runs to gym sessions, the Suunto Run has kept pace (and then some). The 1.32” AMOLED display? Gorgeous. It’s like having a tiny cinema screen on my wrist with its crisp, colourful, and visible look. Swiping between screens is smooth and responsive, even mid-stride. It genuinely is a smooth piece of equipment, and to be honest is a lot nicer than my Suunto 9 Peak Pro.
I got the opportunity to test the Lime coloured version, with a nylon strap that has great stretch and features a soft Velcro to provide comfortability on the wrist.

GPS tracking is spot-on, and the navigation tools have helped me confidently explore new routes without my usual “where am I?” detours. Plus, the battery life is chef’s kiss – I’m talking up to 40 hours in GPS mode and up to 12 days in daily use.
Whilst taking the Suunto Run out with me, I discovered that it interprets my data really well, so I got training insights, sleep data, stress scores, and that slightly-too-honest readiness rating each morning (yes, Suunto, I do need to rest. Message received.)
I’m a big Suunto user, so syncing it with my account was easy as well as connecting it to my third party apps like Strava. Not to mention using it for structured workouts, and sporting more than 30 sport modes.

The Suunto Run’s entry-level price point is spot on for a recreational runner and for those starting out with sports watches, because it also has step and calorie counting, weather forecasting and phone notifications. Absolute value for money. It was only released in mid-May, and by very early June all the colours (Lime, Frost Gray and Orange) bar All Black were sold out on the Suunto website. Safe to say, the anticipation for this one has been next-level.
If you’re ready to get real about your training, it’s time to strap in with the Suunto Run.
