Relief Run Raises Money For Bushfires

Strava announced the launch of its relief run to raise money across the world for the Australian bushfire disaster. In light of devastating fires in Australia, Australian runners have teamed up to create a virtual half marathon and 5K through a Strava Challenge to raise money for relief efforts.

The aim is to spread the word within Strava’s global community and use the power of footsteps to support those in need. Anyone who is keen to participate and contribute to the cause, can join the Relief Run: Bushfire Disaster challenge, and pledge their run at Relief Run.

Theregistration fee is $50AUD – and 100% goes to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund.

The challenge starts next Friday January 17, 2020 at 12:00am in each athlete’s local time zone, and ends on January 19, 2020 at 11:59pm in the athlete’s local time zone.

Those participating will need to complete a 5K run or walk during the challenge window and upload to Strava. All GPS runs, walks or wheelchair activities will count towards this challenge – including treadmill and manual entries.
